Her focus is not on content, but instead on bringing out the very best of every single learner she encounters. She has an incredible gift of uniting and inspiring. Her students love her deeply and have made amazing strides in their learning as a result of what she willingly pours out on them. She helps every student recognize just how much they matter and reveals their gifts that others might overlook. She has brought her students back to life, made them believe in themselves and helped them find the joy that comes in being a learner. Debra is not only an inspiration to her students, she inspires greatness in those that she works with every day. About the NomineeBrief Comments - What other facts should we know about your nominee? Debra is a wonderful teacher. She helps our kids learn in different and fun ways. She challenges our kids to think for themselves. She's got a great sense of humor and is always ready to love on the kids. She see's our kids hidden talents and is quick to discern their hearts. She instinctively knows how to meet each child at their own level, and develop their skills accordingly. She is innovative and creative in the way that she introduces and communicates concepts to her students. The students really respond to this "out of the box" construct, as she knows how to make learning very exciting and fun!

She is flexible and yet structured. She is very organized and her students can count on her following through. Debra is a wonderful communicator. As a parent, I know how my child is doing at school socially and academically. She is full of integrity and honor and desires to help each of her students reach their full potential.

About the NomineeBrief Comments - What other facts should we know about your nominee? Ms. Weissman is everything it means to be a teacher. She has done a remarkable job of creating a phenomenal classroom culture of cooperation, compassion and community with her students. She meets each student individually where they are, takes the time to understand exactly what works and then presents each lesson individually tailored to the learning style of the student. The results are nothing short of remarkable. I have never encountered a better teacher.

Her attitude and tenacity shine (sometimes gently and sometimes with vivacity)! We are doing something unique here and Deb 'gets it'. Her kids are loved, and are learning great and wonderful things in unique meaningful ways. Team Wiseman is blessed to have her, and so are we...her colleagues. |
