About the NomineeBrief Comments - What other facts should we know? ( MAX 500 characters) My mother started out as a Teacher in Palm Beach County, before technology was really used in classrooms to the extent it is used today, she had a class website for her students before people even used the term "Google it." When everyone was using transparencies on overheads, she was teaching hands on with smartboards. She was the first teacher I knew to use that, so called evil-machine, the projector back in the day. I never thought almost classroom in our district would have one. She has incorporated the latest and best technology into her classes, with everything from individual student blogs to voicethreads to having a class skype with another class in entirely different country. She has always gone the extra mile for her students and til this day students who had her and have kids themselves say they wish their kids could have a teacher like her. In her recent adventure, she has moved to the District office where she helps students, teachers, and other faculty with their latest technology needs. I am so proud of what she has accomplished and proud to call her "my mother!" Please vote for Lee Kolbert aka Momma Dukes aka HockeyMom aka GeekyMomma and follow her on twitter @teachakidd
