About NomineeNominee's Organization Canastota High School Nominators affiliation to nominee: Fellow teacher Tell us how he/she is making a difference: She has started "The Apprentice" at her high school, where she has paired up students with CEO's all over the United States. Through this program she has exposed her students not only to great business leaders, but with real, tangible examples of life outside of school. She works very hard for these students and also promotes their work to the fullest extend.

About the NomineeBrief Comments - What other facts should we know? ( MAX 500 characters) I was fortunate to be one of the CEO's who volunteered to work with Patty's kids this year. Her vision, and enthusiasm made the program a huge success for all involved. I am thrilled that there are teachers like Patty that are creating and providing educational opportunities that support and encourage our kids to be independent, strategic thinkers.

Her apprentice project connecting students with mentors is a wonderful experience for her students. Her commitment to her students is a model for others.

Since that time, we have continued to keep in contact and I have watched her amazing work with her students. She is passionate about her classes and I have seen outcomes that go beyond the students and impact the greater community. I am so honored to know Patty and am inspired by all that she does.
