| Eligibility and Guidelines
Nominees must have been active in the field for at least part of the current school year. Individuals may be nominated for multiple categories where appropriate. Re-nominations are allowed. Every awards season is new and past nominees as well as past winners can be submitted for consideration each new year. There are two types of honors: The Bammy Awards and the Educator's Voice Awards. Nominations for the Bammy Awards are made exclusively by the Academy of Education Arts and Sciences International. Anyone may nominate a person, program or organization for the Educator's Voice Awards. Self-nominations for the Educator's Voice Awards are accepted and encouraged. Community and self-nominated individuals who receive enough community votes may catch the attention of the Academy and be upgraded to an Academy nomination. Only Academy-nominated individuals are eligible to display the official Bammy Awards nominee badge on their web sites. Official Academy nominee's badges should be linked to their profiles on the Bammy Awards web site where the Academy Nominee button will be displayed. Only sites that are linked as described are confirmed Academy nominees. Disqualification Ineligible entries may be disqualified at any phase of the selection process without notification. Acknowledgment of Nomination All nominees will be listed on the Bammy Awards web site. Academy-nominated individuals will be designated and flaged "Academy review." Individuals nominated by the general education community will be designated by "community review." Terms and Conditions of Entry/Usage All nominees must be associated with a web site or email address and must be accessible via the Internet. Timely submission of an entry meeting the eligibility requirements ensures that an entrant will be reviewed and considered for recognition. No other representation or warranty is made by the Bammy Awards organization concerning nominees and all implied warranties are hereby expressly disclaimed. If a nominee receives an award, the manner and details of announcing such nomination and award is strictly within the discretion of the Bammy Awards organization. Nominees understand that all awards may not be given or publicized in the same manner and some might be presented in a ceremony and others might not. Note: The Academy reserves the right to eliminate any category that receives fewer than 50 nominees for the awards period. Timeline - Nomination and Public Voting Period Call for nominations begin in March. The nomination and public voting period closes on April 30, 2013. The Educator's Voice Awards honorees will be announced in June. Bammy Awards will be presented at a black-tie event in September. Administrator; Release; Limitation of Liability The Bammy Awards are administered by an Executive Committee that reserves the right to make all final decisions regarding the awards in its sole discretion. The Executive Committee reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to suspend or cancel the Bammy Awards at any time. What people are saying...
"As a parenting writer and a mother of four, I've seen firsthand that our children’s education is a joint effort between almost every adult with whom our children come in contact on a regular basis. Whether or not they hold a degree in education, those who support and encourage our children both in and out of the classroom deserve special recognition for their impact on our children’s intellectual, social, and emotional development.”
