Kathleen Curtis
Kathleen Curtis has been providing early care and education in her home for 23 years. In her professional career, she has been very passionate at providing 127 children with a safe, loving, and stimulating learning environment. Without doubt, she focuses her attention to providing for the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of the children in her care. Her priority is to help children be prepared for life.
She implements child assessment strategies in her program. She uses that information to meet the needs of individual children and to celebrate with their parents in her communications. She believes in family engagement and provides several activities to make it happen.
Kathleen stays up-to-date in best practices by continuing to get education and training. She is involved in the field as a member of the Family Child Care Association of New York State. Kathleen has been accredited since 1998 by the National Association of Family Child Care. She believes as a nationally accredited family child care provider, she is much better able to help prepare children for further education, as evidenced by the very high rate of successful kindergarten screenings of the children in her care.
