She's served in this position for 16 years and manages multiple duties, including advocating for early childhood policy at the legislative level. Her tireless efforts help make the annual conference possible, but she also travels the state, visiting affiliates or providing training, and she serves on statewide educational and advocacy committees. About the NomineeBrief Comments - What other facts should we know? ( MAX 500 characters) Suzanne is the author of Building Brains: 600 Activity Ideas for Young Children and of many articles that have been published in a variety of early childhood journals. She also volunteers her time playing the guitar, singing with children, and telling stories at preschool programs. With a master's degree in special education, Suzanne taught both hearing impaired and typically developing young children for over forty years, directed a NAEYC-accredited child care program for seventeen years, and is past president of the Sarasota Early Childhood Association, the Early Childhood Association of Florida, and the Southern Early Childhood Association.
