Tell us how he/she is making a difference:
Ms Martin nurture infants and dedicates her time to the whole child. She is the most patient, and gentle caregiver I have had the pleasure of working with. She helps to identify her students extra needs at early stages and supports parents in finding appropriate paths for early childhood intervention. She works very hard to incorporate sensory play daily, baby yoga, sign language and gross motor development. Ms Martin creates bonds with the children that are entrusted to her. She mentors other employees and encourages them as well. Ms Martin continues to reshape the way that infants are cared for in a "center" environment. She attends continuing education classes often, and has shared her opinion on state regulations and the quality rating system in our state. She strives everyday for improvement in care, education, and interaction with these small people. It isn't just a job for her, but her passion.

About the Nominee

Brief Comments - What other facts should we know? ( MAX 500 characters)
Ms. Martin is highly motivated, positive, and truly deserving of recognition for her work with these children. Our organization was created to cater to infants that obviously do not yet have a voice. They cannot tell a story of their day. They cannot say if they are being cared for properly. But this lady, she is one that does it everyday, and she does it with ease keeping parents involved every step of the way.
It is impossible to have a successful business without passionate staff. Additionally, near impossible keep her caliber of staff to operate in a low income area. The children may spend 50 hours a week at our center, and in turn she becomes their primary caregiver. She is a single mother of three that some how balances all of her responsibilities while truly making an impact on these children and their families. She does whatever it takes, and she does it because she has a love for children.
