About NomineeNominees' website: http://NASN.org, putnamcityschools.org Nominee's Organization Putnam City School District Nominators affiliation to nominee: Secretary Tell us how he/she is making a difference: Georgene is the Health Services Coordinator for Putnam City Schools, a public school district of 20,000 students. She is very active in NASN and SNOO, the Oklahoma affiliate. Also she follows closely laws and proposed legislation both nationally and in Oklahoma. Just 2 days ago she met with a couple of Oklahoma legislators to discuss the epinephrine debate (whether or not schools should purchase). Georgene gets thousands of emails with the school nurse discussion group/list serve so she can always stay on top of issues concerning school nursing. Her dedication to being informed with the latest info and to our 30 school clinics, RNs and staff here is remarkable.

About the NomineeBrief Comments - What other facts should we know about your nominee? Georgene has several degrees, of course RN and BSN, but also MPH: master in public health, NCSN: nationally certified school nurse, and CHES: certified health education specialist. She is past president of SNOO and serves as a HANDS educator. She was also an officer at NASN and attends the conferences and special meetings in Washington DC to help further understanding and legislation of the important role of school nursing.
