Shannon is an award winning Tennessee Teacher of the Year... She was the District Teacher of the Year and then a Regional WInner of the Tennessee TEacher of the Year. She is a nominee for the Grand DIvision TEacher of the Year - the awardee will be chosen this summer. She has taught for 15 years and strives to support her students' critical thinking, inquiry, problem solving, and independent learning. She teaches high ability and gifted students in grades K-4. Her students are challenged to succeed and to apply what they are learning to real world problems and the study of enduring concepts that cross the academic disciplines.
