About the NomineeBrief Comments - What other facts should we know? ( MAX 500 characters) Gabrielle Morrison is in her 7th year at Knapp. The most important component of her classroom is that her students treat each other the way they want to be treated while they REACH FOR THE STARS. "R.E.S.P.E.C.T...find out what it means to me..." They have 4 character traits that the school focuses on throughout the year and RESPECT is one of them. KINDNESS & RESPECT are extremely important in her classroom. All of her students learn very quickly that she DOES NOT tolerate bullying. Students learn in a safe and challenging environment every day. The other important thing in her classroom is that she expects ALL of her students to try their best. Miss Morrison does not settle for anything less than 100% at all times. If students give their all, she will always be pleased with their work. As her own parents and Nana always used to tell her... About the NomineeBrief Comments - What other facts should we know? ( MAX 500 characters) Miss Morrison is one of the greats in teaching, and we are lucky to say she is at Knapp. She is always using technology to get the kids involved at greater depths. One of my faves is that she got her class involved in a virtual 4 school debate about homework this year with 3 schools from PA & NJ. She provides opportunities for her students that they might not otherwise experience. She also has led the environmental club at our school to accomplish great things...all while getting kids excited about energy conservation, collecting school recyclables, making bird feeders, and weeding the school courtyard. |
