Reason for Nominating:
The death of a loved one is something that most of us don't even want to contemplate. But, sooner or later, we all must confront the loss of family members and friends. Mark Hundley faced such a loss much sooner than expected when his wife died from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Suddenly, Mark was a widower with a seven-year-old daughter. Through this devastation, Mark Hundley has made it his life’s mission to help children and families experience “good mourning” during which grief can actually become a healthy, positive and healing experience.

Mark and I were in high school together andI lost contact with him until a couple of years ago. We connected through facebook. Mark has a mantra that he uses that helped him through the mourning of the death of his first wife..."keep on washing your dishes". When I was in a place of deep anguish that I believed I would not survive, Mark shared those words with me and they changed my life forever. They are simple but carry a powerful message. His words have become my mantra and I have shared them with many individuals that feel that they are in a place of hopelessness. His gifts are many and he shares them with a humility that few of us on this earth posess. God blessed me abundantly when he brought Mark back into my life.

Mark truly knows the depth of grief and he has taken his "mourning" and turned it to joy by trusting God, pursuing knowledge and seeking answers to dealing with his loss and then taking that knowledge and sharing it with anyone else who has suffered loss.
I have know Mark for over 40 years and he is truly an amazing man, husband, father and friend.
