About NomineeNominee's Organization Birmingham Covington School, Birmingham, MI Nominators affiliation to nominee: peer, online colleague, friend Tell us how he/she is making a difference: Pauline is the kind of passionate teacher who pushes students to think about the world around them, investigate the problems, and then empowers them to come up with a creative solution. She was a winner of the Microsoft US Forum in 2011 and 2012. She also was one of 16 Global Forum winners in Prague, Czech Republic and has already been selected as a 2013 Expert Educator. She integrates technology with math and science and embodizes what it means to be a STEM teacher. I highly regard her work and ability to innovate and empower students.

About the NomineeBrief Comments - What other facts should we know about your nominee? The teaching world is blessed with many inspiring and creative teachers. However, there are some that represent the best in our profession. Pauline is certainly one that falls in that category. How lucky I was to be able to be in her presence at Microsoft's US and Global Forums. Her enthusiasm is contagious, and her sense of humor enlivens every meeting. How I wish one of my children could have had her for a teacher!

Pauline motivates her students to believe they can achieve anything and teaches them real-world skills they need to be successful in their futures. I don't know where she finds her energy and makes the time in the day to do all that she does to prepare for her students and continue to grow and learn to improve her own professional skills. She is simply amazing!

About the NomineeBrief Comments - What other facts should we know about your nominee? I met Pauline at the US Partners in Learning last summer. Since then I have been inspired by what she has done with her students. Her drive and devotion to her kids is very clear and has also pushed me to be a better teacher. Thank you Pauline!
