About the Nominee

Brief Comments - What other facts should we know about your nominee?
The Provost PTA definitely goes the extra mile with everything they do. The work nonstop to enrich every aspect of the students lives, inside and outside of school. They have helped pay for field trips, in class activities, and teacher supplies. They support the teachers whole-heartedly in every way they can including offering art classes taught by PTA parents and support during parent-teacher conferences. They involve the community with back-to-school activities, parent nights/classes, a school musical, and the Spring Festival held for the community every year.

This year they did a special focus on strengthening families. They planned and helped put on a program set up by Steve James and First Lady, Jeanette Herbert called Uplift Utah Families. The program focuses on making good choices and helping parents help their children. This is such an asset to the school and the community.

About the Nominee

Brief Comments - What other facts should we know about your nominee?
Our PTA has gone the extra mile in every endeavor they have made this year. They produced a successful musical for the community and our school families, they celebrated diverse heritage, red ribbon and green ribbon weeks, bring your family to school week, teacher appreciation, and provided volunteer art classes for each of our students during the school day. They found money to help with field trips and organized an unmatched spring festival that brought in funds that will insure more great opportunities for our students, family, and community in the year to come. They gave their individual and collective hearts and souls toward one end; the bettterment of our students, their families, and those who teach them every day. Such effort deserves to be recognized.

About the Nominee

Brief Comments - What other facts should we know about your nominee?
As a participant in the Provost PTA I have learned many things about how the school and PTA are collaborating. These help me be a better parent. I have seen how being inside the school working on projects, and volunteering in the classrooms can help you know how to help your children and support the teachers. The more parents get to know each other by working on Art Expresssions, Take Your Family to School Week, The Great Artist Program and other programs, they can reach out to other parents and help them be pro-active in supporting more children's learning. This year a huge undertaking for the Red Ribbon week safety concert brought so many families together that the school couldn't hold them and we needed another location. For some of us, it was the first time we met other parents and saw how diverse and wonderful our community is.

Provost PTA martials the talents and creativity of educators and parents to enrich the education and cohesiveness of our unique community. It has been instrumental in organizing the necessary volunteer force that makes our programs and our school run. Programs like our annual Fiesta and Red Ribbon Week concert bring our community together. This year we implemented the Great Artist program to enrich and encourage our students. Provost PTA is always searching for ways to improve our community and enrich the lives of our students.

About the Nominee

Brief Comments - What other facts should we know about your nominee?
Provost PTA sets a high standard in supporting the school and its community. The beginning of the year fiesta, the "Choose Today" concert, and the "Take Your Family to School Week" are just some of the highlights. Each of these events, as well as their regular PTA meetings and other activities, are designed to meet the needs of the students, their families, and the surrounding community. These events are well attended and have helped the parents and families understand the educational system better and understand how they, as parents, can make a bigger, more positive difference in their families and in the community. Thank you Provost PTA!

As the Provo Council PTA President I have been very impressed and delighted by Jennifer Partridge and the Provost PTA. Not only did they put on a fantastic "Take your family to school week," they also have had a year full of similar activities. In the fall, they took the lead in our district by deciding to put together a Red Ribbon week program that was spectacular! It was a program put together by Utah's First Lady Jeanette Herbert and she came as a guest and attended. It really brought the whole community together, it was so wonderful. I think Provost is an outstanding example of being a Parent Group Leader.
