Janet's determination & drive to bring fresh locally grown produce into Long Island schools has benefited hundreds of students this past school year. Janet is a pioneer who, many years ago, had a vision to connect the local farmers to the school lunch program. Janet drove it home to the children this year, and so many of us are thankful for her consistent and continued effort to make this all happen. A well deserved nomination!

She is a great mentor for students like me wanting to get into the field of nutrition. She renewed my motivation to improve the food supply one step at a time!

Janet demonstrates that "where there's a will, there's a way"! She cares deeply about the children, her staff, the school community and the local farms - a role model for us all!
