About the Nominee
Brief Comments - What other facts should we know about your nominee?
It's with pride and honor that I would see Al Cervello receive these awards. He is a visionary in his quest for absolute excellence in education. He strives daily to bring the world around us into the walls of West Blvd. through technology, communication and innovative learning. Through his guidance he's developed a positive environment for learning where every student matters and everyone, students, staff and parents are part of a family where everything is achievable and nothing is unattainable. The values of an excellent education aren't limited to within the walls of the school. Everything learned and achieved is passed on into the community. The students leave with a feeling of pride and self respect through the knowledge they've gained and each and everyone of them knows,"I AM IMPORTANT", I am loved and valued. Al has said that something as simple as asking these students, "How was your day?" means more to them than anything. Why? because sometimes no one ever does. That is why he is such an outstanding leader because he cares, he's committed and he knows that each and every child deserves nothing but the very best education and to give them anything less is a disservice. He expects that of his students, his staff and most of all of himself 110% nothing less.
