Through his dedication and incredible spirit, Chip has made a significant difference in the field of Early Childhood Education and in the lives of the educators and children that his work has touched.

Chip has been on the cutting edge of technology in education--an 'edge' that continually changes--and Chip manages to be a step ahead, nonetheless.

Chip truly does it all! Not only does Chip do it all, but he does it all extremely well and in a way that everyone around him benefits. He is an outstanding Professor to his students and a fantastic model for professors around him. He is dedicated and passionate about early childhood education and creative and accepting of the ways early childhood education is changing with technology and the times. His work has helped to change the field of early education and his collaborative style has encouraged communication between researchers, academics, media creators, early childhood teachers, policy groups, and children's television centers. Chip is truly an innovator in the field and should be awarded for his amazing work!

Chip not only understands the needs of young children - he understands how to work with adults in the field as well. Chip has gone above and beyond in working with staff of the Erikson Institute to translate our courses into an engaging, interactive, high-quality, relationship-based online forum. His creativity, patience, and dedication is unparalled. His work will enable us to reach teachers that otherwise may be unable to pursue their degree/certification. The resulting benefits to young children in our state and throughout the country is unimaginable.

Technology in education is an underdeveloped medium and subject area, at least for those of us who are not technology specialists. Chip is one of the most accessible technology educators I have met, which is clearly expressed in his work on integrating technology into early childhood education and in relation-ship based online adult education.

Chip has introduced innovative applications of online education in early childhood environments. His work has placed Erikson Institute at the local, national, and global levels. He has the great qualities of an innovator: risk taker, creativity, and leadership. I am proud to be his colleague and work with him in many projects. He deserves to receive this award because of his continued efforts to the field of early childhood.

Chip is all about finding innovative ways to get kids out in nature. He's made a huge impact in his community.
